This series is composed of records related to the work of the General Assembly and its Committees (Credentials and Candidatures for the Council). The main functions of the General Assembly are as follows: 
- Determine the general policies of ICCROM; 
- Consider and approve the Programme of Activities and Budget of ICCROM, on the basis of proposals submitted by the Council; 
- Consider and approve reports on the activities of the Council and the ICCROM Secretariat; 
- Admit new Member States, as well as readmit former Member States; 
- Elect the members of the Council; 
- On the proposal of the Council, appoint the Director-General; 
- Fix the contributions of Member States; and
- Adopt the Financial Regulations of ICCROM. 

The ICCROM Award is presented on the occasion of ICCROM’s General Assembly. It is given to individuals who have contributed significantly to ICCROM’s development and/or who have special merit in the field of conservation, protection and restoration of cultural heritage. The Award is presented to the winner by the Director-General, accompanied by an official laudation (text in recognition of merit) read by the person who has nominated the winner or by a person appointed by the Director-General.

Consultability

Records of this series are available for consultation when 20 years have passed from their creation date, and no restrictions are applied to them. Final documents distributed to and approved by the Council, except for records marked confidential or with confidential sections, are publicly available after the meeting.
