This subfile contains images of archaeological landmarks located across Italy showcasing landscapes, site details including some restauration and reconstruction.
Images from Bologna includes Piazza Maggiore, Basilica di San Petronio, and San Domenico Church with details of stonework conservation and deterioration, alongside images of Bologna's towers. In Tivoli, the travertine quarry is documented, featuring a mechanical saw at work, while Verona presents insights into marble quarry and factories, with scenes of marble being sliced. In Todi, images of Santa Maria della Consolazione Church are shown, and Agrigento features the Temple of Hercules, including images from a recent trustees' visit.
Syracuse is highlighted with sites such as the Temple of Apollo, the Greek theatre, and Segesta Temple. Images of Enna includes views of Mount Etna, and those of Sicily include ancient Nuraghe and Santa Teresa Gallura.
Venice’s iconic landmarks are featured such as San Marco Piazza, Doge’s Palace, and San Giorgio Church, showing mosaics on Torcello and views of the Venetian Lagoon. There are also images of Pantheon facade, Column of Marcus Aurelius, and Arch of Constantine, which is being cleaned and fenced off. The Colosseum features restoration efforts, with details on the east side, buttress reconstruction, and interior views during exhibitions. Other notable sites in Rome include Trajan's Column, the Forum of Trajan, Palatine Hill, and the remains of the Domitian Station at Piazza Navona. There are also images of Ostia Antica showcasing the ruins of the Roman Theatre, shop fronts, and arches.
Images of Sardinia are represented by Santa Teresa Gallura, Church of the Holy Trinity of Saccargia in Codrongianos, and the Nuraghe Santu Antine, along with sites like the Elephant Rock and the Giant's Tomb in Santa Cristina.
